Merino wool and cotton canvas are classic fabrics to wear for hunting, but performance fabrics are popular, too. What matters most is dressing for the season. You want layers that wick moisture, vent air, block UV rays, and hold up in the field. These include:

  • We love merino wool for shifting seasons and cool climates. This natural fiber keeps you warm without overheating.
  • Durable cotton canvas is a go-to when you don’t want briars, brambles, or brush slowing you down.

Gear up for a bird hunt in a long-sleeve shirt, an insulated hoodie, durable pants, comfortable boots, and a hunting vest. Layer up and don’t forget to wear blaze orange for safety.

Layer, layer, and layer some more. You’ll want to start and end the day wearing long pants, tall socks, a long-sleeve shirt, a hoodie, a jacket, and a vest. If the day heats up, shed what you don’t need. Merino wool makes fantastic layers for cold-weather hunts. If you prefer synthetic materials, look for thermoregulating or insulated performance tops, bottoms, and outerwear.
