100% customer satisfaction has been our commitment since 1856. It's who we are. If you aren't happy with a product or service, we want to know about it. And we'll make it right.
THAT'S THE ORVIS WAY.
The Orvis Chesapeake Bay 2-Day Combo School is held in Dowell, MD, and combines our time-tested 1-Day Fly Fishing School, followed by a guided fishing charter at mouth of the Patuxent River, where it meets the majestic Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the United States and the third largest in the world.
On the first day you take part in casting lessons with focus on the double-haul, learn about the tackle selection—specific to both freshwater and saltwater fishing, fly selection, leaders, and knots. Our goal is to have students exit the program with the ability to handle casts of 50 feet or more effectively and apply fishing techniques when fishing from a boat. Day two, you’ll practice your skills on a guided fishing charter out of the famous Solomons Island, provided by the Orvis-Endorsed Outfitter Rock On Charter Fishing. Students will fish the Patuxent River or the main stem of the Chesapeake Bay. Target fish species, depending on the time of year and conditions, will include stripers, redfish, and trout. Two anglers per boat. Students must be 12 years of age.
