Our Hospitality
We are confident in our ability to offer meaningful time on the water to our clients. We have the know-how on delivering a quality fly fishing experience because fly fishing is our passion. Our goal is to offer whatever you may need for a trip you will enjoy time and time again. All equipment can be provided upon request. Full-day clients will receive a stream side lunch and beverage along with some snacks to hold you over throughout the day.
Your Time With Us
After making initial contact by email or phone, you will hear directly from Matt to get a better understanding of what you are looking to accomplish with your scheduled block of time. Whether you are looking to hone a specific skill, just getting started fly fishing and trying to accelerate the learning curve, or just want an experienced guide to help you find fish and read water, all of this will be discussed during our first conversation.
Next, we will look at your availability and get your day booked. A conformation email with printable certificate for your day will be sent over via email. A $100 deposit is requested upon booking. If for any reason your trip needs to be canceled or rescheduled, we can either do so by communicating seven days prior to your trip. A full refund will be issued if canceled seven days before your trip.
Region
We fish the Swift River and its gin clear waters which flow from the Quabbin Reservoir. You can expect to see other anglers chasing picky trout along some of the more popular sections of the river. But, with some effort, we can typically find some quiet water. The Deerfield River is 70-plus miles long with an impressive number of resident wild brown trout. Trophy sized browns could be lurking around any rock, hole, or log jam. The beautiful landscape and rolling hills and deep valleys are breathtaking. Central and Western, MA also has many blue lines and small streams holding wild browns and brookies. Deep wooded watery trails holding wild fish can be found in almost every town west of Palmer.
Can you take more than 2 people?
It depends on the availability of other guides in the area whom I work with, but typically this can be arranged.
I don't have waders; do you provide them?
In the warmer months, you can often wet wade. However, if waders and boots with studs are needed, I can provide those at no extra cost.
I have my own fly rod; can I bring fish with my own gear?
I think it’s better for the client to bring the tool they have available to fish with. This way we can really work on using your rod to its best ability so when you recreate fishing on your own terms, your better prepared.
