The Orvis Corporate Headquarters
The Orvis corporate headquarters are located in rural Sunderland, Vermont, near a 377-acre natural black bear habitat located off of Route 7. Executive leadership, marketing, human resources, travel, merchandising, sourcing, catalog, E-commerce, retail, inventory, information services, liquidations, rod and tackle, advertising, and our sporting services departments are all based in the Home Office.
Our Flagship and Outlet Stores
Our flagship and outlet stores are located in nearby Manchester, Vermont—the site of Charles Orvis’ very first fly rod shop in 1856 and where all of our finest fly rods are still built.
The Orvis Rod Shop
The Orvis Rod Shop is located at 4182 Main Street behind the Orvis Flagship Store in Manchester, Vermont, the same town where Charles Orvis opened his very first fly rod shop in 1856 and where all of our finest fly rods are still built. The Rod Shop employs a dedicated team of rod designers, fabrication specialists, pattern makers, machine operators, finishers, and product testers. The facility also includes rod and reel repair services and warehouse operations.
The Orvis Flagship Fly-Fishing School
Our state-of-the-art school is located directly across the street from the Flagship Store in Manchester, Vermont. The schoolhouse is a 6,000 square-foot facility with 4,500 square feet of interior teaching space, and 1,500 square feet of covered porch looking out toward the mountains. Outside, there is a designated casting area. Inside, the spacious classroom is appointed with hickory furniture and has a built-in video projector for teaching. Our instructors are the best in the industry, and they work in the most beautiful facility of its kind anywhere in the world.
The Orvis Distribution Center
In the summer of 1987, The Orvis Company moved its distribution center to Blue Hills Drive in the Roanoke Valley, looking for a place where there was a strong and talented employee base. Executive warehouse leadership, telephone sales, customer service, personalization, tailoring, information services, and shipping and receiving are all based in Roanoke.
Ever since Charles F. Orvis opened his first tackle shop on Main Street in Manchester, Vermont in 1861, exceptional customer service has been the hallmark of our brand. We have stores across the US, and continue to open more each year. From a career standpoint, Orvis is a great place to grow. Our retail sales associates are given extensive training and development. Associates that achieve outstanding performance may be chosen to participate in our Manager-in-Training program and may eventually be promoted to Fly Fishing Manager, Retail Store Manager, or even Area Manager.
Orvis Sandanona Shooting Grounds
Located in rural Millbrook, New York, about 90 miles north of Manhattan, Orvis Sandanona Shooting Grounds is a place where the traditions of the field and the hunt are held in the highest regard. Sandanona is the oldest permitted shotgun shooting club in the country. The main lodge was built during the presidency of Thomas Jefferson and using its richly textured past as a foundation, Orvis Sandanona has built a thriving, modern sporting clays shooting ground that is consistently ranked among the very best in the nation. Orvis Fly Fishing and Wingshooting Schools, and a fully-catered lodge facility that includes ample meeting space, create a benchmark experience for both corporate recreation and individual sporting pursuits
Orvis Hill Country Shooting Grounds
Orvis Hill Country Shooting Grounds and Sporting Clays Course is now open to the public. Located in the rolling hills of southern Pennsylvania in the town of Blue Ridge Summit, Orvis Hill Country is just 25 minutes south of Gettysburg, and 1.5 hours from the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Located on over 500 acres, this beautiful and historic property is the newest venue in the Orvis Shooting Grounds Collection, joining Orvis Sandanona and Orvis Pursell Farms as the premier sporting clays, upland hunting, and instructional shooting properties in the world. This storied location with its rich 200-year history as a working farm, now houses the Orvis Pro Shop and provides amenities catering to sporting clays enthusiasts as well as Orvis Hill Country’s upland hunting members.
Orvis Pursell Farms Shooting Grounds
In the heart of the deep south, in a land where shooting sports reign supreme, dwells the Orvis Shooting Grounds at Pursell Farms. With more than 3,000 acres of rolling hills, oak and pine forests, native grasses and fertile plantation land, our sporting amenities mingle a richness of antebellum tradition with a modern touch of design and class. Orvis at Pursell Farms has created highly experiential shooting grounds that are sure to deliver a sporting experience like none other. Orvis Sporting Clays Course, Orvis Wingshooting Schools and clubhouse facility are the hallmarks of this one-of-a-kind-shooting destination. Our shooting grounds are ideally suited for individual sporting pursuits and corporate recreation. Pursell Farms is open 363 days a year.
