Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the Novice Fly Tyer The foam is very easy to work with when tying a floating beetle. Add the silicone strips for the legs and the appearance of the fly is quite realistic. A good fly tying start for a beginner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Foam The foam was slightly a lighter shade. But did work fine on my hopper patterns

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect texture and color I purchased this red foam for tying red and white Gartside Gurglers and it is exactly the correct color and density to do the job. I had fished for baby tarpon a few years ago and the most productive pattern gurgler was red and white tied on a 2/0 tarpon hook; I hope to repeat that scenario when fishing in Belize this spring!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I thought this foam was reasonably priced and I wanted to tie some terrestrials so I bought a few colors. Upon receipt I thought it looked like a small amount of foam but once I started tying with it I found it to be plenty. It is surprising how many beetles you can make from one piece of that foam!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tying with Orvis Foam As an average tyer for some 20 years and medically retired I have found that with failing eyesight & arthritis in my hands, making foam flies is much easier than using some of the other choice materials. Orvis's foam products which I have used for years, come in a variety of colors; I have found it to be easy to handle, easy to mold and very colorful in making whatever I need for the occasion be it a big bass bug or small mayfly......I would recommend Orvis' foam to any tyer be they average or expert.... PS...A special thanks to Alex, who is the manager of the Baton Rouge Orvis Store for his expert help in getting me my orders..... Respectfully, Rev. Alan

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems good! I don't have much experience with tying foam flies but this product seems to work good. Have tried some beetles in the field and they seem to be holding up well.
