This Orvis fly fishing school in Idaho offers casting lessons in a world-class setting.
100% customer satisfaction has been our commitment since 1856. It's who we are. If you aren't happy with a product or service, we want to know about it. And we'll make it right.
THAT'S THE ORVIS WAY.
Tucked away in some of the most beautiful scenery in the Pacific Northwest is the town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and the site of the Orvis Idaho Fly Fishing School. The school is held at the Northwest Outfitters, North Idaho’s premier fly shop and the Orvis 2022 Fly Shop of Year.
Instruction is geared toward beginners, but students of all levels are welcome and encouraged to progress at their own rate. Our teaching methods allow us to handle all levels of experience and abilities. Indoor and outdoor sessions are evenly divided, with the main emphasis placed on developing and perfecting fly-casting skills. Our goal is to have the students exit the program with the ability to handle 30-foot plus casts effectively, understand casting and fishing techniques when fishing on a steam or in a boat, have a good understanding of fly selection, leaders, knot tying skills, and the application/use of related gear and equipment for saltwater and freshwater fishing. We also encourage an appreciation for fine tackle and emphasize the importance of the catch and release ethic, a clean healthy outdoor environment, and continued pursuit of quality fly fishing experiences through the promotion of our Orvis-Endorsed Lodge Outfitter and Guide Services.
You'll cover it all at the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Fly Fishing School:
