The Story

Embark on a guided fishing adventure targeting smallmouth bass in the heart of Hells Canyon, the awe-inspiring gorge carved by the Snake River along the border of Idaho and Oregon. Renowned for its dramatic landscapes and world-class fishing, Hells Canyon offers an unforgettable experience amid breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife, and thrilling whitewater.

The canyon’s combination of rugged beauty, remote access, and healthy smallmouth bass populations makes it a premier destination for anglers seeking both challenge and relaxation. During the prime fishing seasons, guests can pursue trout, salmon, and steelhead. These species provide exciting challenges and rewarding experiences for novice and experienced anglers alike.

Minam Store Outfitters is led by owner and head guide Grant Richie, whose family has lived and worked in Hells Canyon for five generations. This deep connection to the region gives Grant a rare historical perspective that few guides can offer. By blending his passion for the canyon, its history, outstanding fishing, comfortable camps, and exceptional food, Grant has created a fishing experience that is both authentic and truly one of a kind.
