Won't sink and swim
I can't get this fly down even with a sinking tip and 4 split shots! It floats like a boat!
I see one other comment with the same problem.
The head seems overly big, maybe a defect?

Lifelike and well tied
This is an awesome large streamer that I'm expecting a strike on the first cast. It is lifelike and well tied. It has double hooks to ensure a good hookup. A large Redfish or
Trout will take this no doubt.

Well Tied, esp. Excellent Spinning on the Head
I purchased the White/Pearl as a model for tying my own versions of this fly. The more of these that I tie up, the more impressed I am with the quality of the Orvis version. There are some really minor differences than the videos of Lynch tying them himself--the polar chenille body is shorter and a little sparser.
But the really great thing about the way that Orvis has tied the fly is the deer hair head. It is spun very tightly and is large and well-shaped. (So far, none of my own ties have come anywhere close to this quality.)
The only thing I'd change is to have the White/Pearl version tied with either deer belly hair or bleached body hair so that the head matches the color of the rest of the fly (I'm tying these to represent juvenile whitefish). This one issue doesn't affect the other two colors as the head matches them much better.
