The Story

Make epoxy-type flies without the mess of mixing! A transparent, viscous adhesive that gives flies a pliable, realistic feel. Ideal for saltwater flies, the special self-leveling formula completely prevents bubbles and dripping, eliminating the need to rotate your drying flies.

Flies can even be dipped, as it sets in a few seconds, and will never peel, crack, or discolor.

Excellent for covering doll eyes or flashy materials. Will not mask the fish-attracting details of your flies. Recoating Softex softens it, allowing you to add more materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glossy flexible even self-leveling coating I bought and started using this product about 2 weeks ago. Even though it was not the kind of product I was looking for, I gave 5 stars because of the many features it has. I find the smell is acceptable just like any other lacquer products. When dried, it gives clear transparent glossy wet look to my jigs and it's as hard as any lacquers. But it still maintains that flexible feature. The product I was looking for turned out to be an epoxy. One type of epoxies has all of the above features plus it sticks mylar tube to my jigs. Orvis Softex will not stick mylar to jigs even after it's dried.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product works well and I have no complaints about that but I rated it 4 instead of 5 because the smell is overpowering. Basically you can't use it till right before you are ready to leave you tying room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works fine I rated this 3 stars due to dry time and smell. I do like the ease of just dipping and drying. Works fine for me but for someone tying lots of flies it would take too long for drying.
