Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent thread This thread has great strength but its very slippery on the shank, when pressure is applied it will start spinning on your hook

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Veevus thread very strong I was spinning deer hair and the thread I was using kept breaking. The guys in the shop recommend the gel spun thread. It is very strong and allowed me to finish the flys. It worked great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very strong thread! Very strong thread. I don’t think you could intentionally break it. My only reason for the 4-star rating is the thread is very “slippery” and if you’re tying a fly with a steep slip head it’s difficult to keep the thread where you want it. Wax helps some, but not like other thread types. However, good quality and great for small flys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and thin It’s just what I needed to extra pressure on thick materials such as deer hair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, strong thread! I like my salt water flies to be very tight and long lasting, especially after a big fish hit it. Finally, I found some excellent thread by Veevus Offered by orifice. It does not break easily so this is just right for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for streamers You can’t tie a good streamer without a good strong thread. Veevus gel spun does the job extremely well. Tie down naturals and synthetics with finesse or as tight as you need without fear of breaking your thread. As an added bonus the thread can be split for dubbing or fur “brushes”. I love this thread.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Thread The very best thread I’ve used, hands down, for any number of heavy-duty applications. Perfect for spinning and stacking deer hair. Excellent for tying a durable streamer - articulated and otherwise. Use it for dubbing loops on your intruders and you can pick it out with a metal comb, Velcro, or bore brush without fear of breaking the thread. If it were available from Orvis in lighter deniers, I’d buy it here and use it without reservation for dries and nymphs.
