Don’t do it
Sad to say, but my experience with Wheatley (smaller box..before buying this one) has been less than stellar. Received a fly box that won’t shut/ opens on its own, and just have had absurd REC customer service while attempting to cure. Never again.

Highest quality, will be a colletor's item
I thought I was a extravagant in purchasing this Wheatley signature box. By far, the most I have ever spent to store flies. However, when I received it, I was very impressed with the quality of the box. I have 2 other Wheatley's which were purchased in 1994 that I still use. This box is even better made: the metal is a thicker gage and has a really nice latch to keep the box closed. I am sure I will be able to use this for years and pass it down to my grand child who will also be able to use it for a long time. A true collectors item that is practical and beautiful to use.

An example of fine craftsmanship
In England, the cradle of fly fishing, their are chalk streams, bamboo rods, click and pawl reels, and Wheatley fly boxes! I’ve owned my Wheatley for nearly a decade and it’s just as functional and gorgeous as the day I bought it! It has accompanied me on countless trips to rivers across the continent and every hinge, every spring and latch, works perfectly. I fish from 100 to 150 days a year and I never leave home without it!

41 years young.
I have had this fly box since I was given it as a 21st birthday present 41 years ago.
It is still in almost perfect condition after all these years, clips are still holding the lids firmly closed and hinges still lovely and smooth.

My hisband loves this fly box!
My husband fly fished for trout 219 days last year. Yes he is retired. I purchased this fly box for him as a Christmas gift. He is now busy tying dry flies to fill it up. He is happy as can be!

What's to be said?
What can you say that hasn't already been said about a Wheatley fly box? This will be used in conjunction with my two other Wheatleys until I can no longer flyfish. Then they will be handed down the line from son to grandson. If you're on the fence about getting one, do yourself a favor and "pull the trigger".
