Mangum's Dragon Tail fly pattern was created to catch the largest, pickiest tarpon and it works. Since the pattern was conceived, it has been used to catch just about anything that moves. From tarpon, to stripers, largemouth and smallmouth, musky and pike, this fly and material has already racked up an impressive list of species to the net. The pattern utilizes a head that moves water and creates a water column behind that allows the tail to move and dance. Equally impressive is how the fly behaves when it is sitting in the water. Even when not moving the fly undulates and swirls, making it hard for fish to refuse. Designed with the new innovative fly-tying material Mangum's Dragon Tails, which was created through a collaboration between renowned guide, angler, and tyer Captain David Mangum and Orvis.
