The Lodge:
Los Ombúes features eight comfortable double rooms with private bathrooms. Each room has independent radiator heating and air conditioning.
The main Lodge boasts a grand living room that overlooks the marsh. Additional amenities include a well-equipped gym, sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, masseuse, and free wifi service.
Food & Drink:
The hosts at Los Ombúes are especially proud to serve authentic Argentinian food prepared by a professionally-trained chef. Experience a famous Argentine steak, the classic Asados, a tasty empanada, or some perfectly-cooked game. And, of course, enjoy our selection of great Malbecs and other regional wines.

Season:
May to August: Mixed-bag hunting (Ducks, Doves, Perdiz). May to August: Dove and Perdiz hunting (no ducks) on selected dates. September to April: High-volume dove hunting combined with dorado and piranha fishing.
Species:
In the region you will find more than 12 different species of ducks. The legal limit for the province of Entre Rios is 20 ducks per hunter per day. The Entre Rios Province has the highest legal waterfowl limit in the country. For comparison, Buenos Aires province has a bag limit of six ducks per day by law. Los Ombues also offers Perdiz hunting, with a limit of seven per day, and high-volume dove shooting with no limit at all.

Typical Weather:
High 60s to low 40s F from May to August and low 60s to high 90s from December to March. September, October, November, and March have much cooler temperatures.

"Shooting Days"You will shoot a half day on arrival and departure days. Four shooting days means you have three full days of shooting plus two half days. Three shooting days equals two full days and two half days.
Transfers:
Transfers from Buenos Aires to Los Ombues are either overland or by charter airplane and can be done directly from the international airport on arrival or from a hotel in Buenos Aires if you overnight in the city. The drive takes about four and a half hours, depending on traffic. The direct charter flight takes just over an hour to the lodge's landing strip. *Please note that the landing strip at the lodge is grass and excessive amount of rain can affect charter flight plans on arrival or departure.
Orvis Travel will arrange your transfers to Los Ombues. This is not included in the price of the trips and varies depending on how many people are being transported, fuel costs and the current exchange rate. Transfers will be done by Los Ombues unless you would like to arrange something on your own.

Transfer Cost By Charter Aircraft:
Air charter costs start at approximately $2500 per airplane one way from Buenos Aires or back. A Beechcraft King Air E-90 is around $5200 one way, and holds 4-5 passengers. We will quote you a firm price for the transfers based on party size, aircraft and exchange rate.

Not included:
International Flights between the U.S. and Argentina, hotels and transfers in Buenos Aires, Shells, 12 or 20 gauge (please request 28 or 410 ga. well ahead of scheduled trip), gun Permits, gun rental (Beretta ,Benelli and Remington shotguns can be rented for approximately $60 US per day), gratuities - the lodge manager will collect $150 US per person/per day to distribute to the lodge staff and field gun assistants. No additional tipping is required and is not mandatory, hunting licenses $150 US per person FOR THE TRIP, air/ground transfers to and from the lodge.
What Documents Will I Need When Traveling To Argentina?
VALID PASSPORT: Check the expiration date on your passport. It should not expire within six months of your trip's departure date. No visa is required for U.S. or European citizens to travel to Argentina or Chile. No Visa is required for American and European Citizens. Make a photocopy of your passport. Keep the original in your packed luggage, and only carry a photocopy of it when you are outside your hotel room, or the lodge. The only time you might need your original passport would be while shopping and paying with a credit card, or changing money.
What forms of payment are accepted at Los Ombues?
Los Ombues accepts cash, personal checks with no surcharge and credit cards (a 4% surcharge will be applied); Visa and American Express.
Is there a dress code at the Lodge?
No, there is no dress code at the lodge and the atmosphere is very casual. In the field, we suggest shorts or pants plus long or short-sleeved camouflage or dark green shirts. Please do not wear khaki or light-colored shirts or hats in the field.
Do you have high-speed Internet connections or phone to make international calls from the Lodge?
Yes. We have Wi-Fi throughout the Lodge, including in the bedrooms. There is a VOIP, free American phone line for our guests' use.
Is it customary to tip at the Lodge?
Tips for the lodge and field staff are not included in our prices. Tipping is discretionary. The house staff tips are distributed evenly among the entire staff. For the bird pick-up boys, we recommend $65 per day, per hunter. And another $65 for the lodge staff and master guide. Gifts such as camouflage caps, shirts, and other hunting-related items are also greatly appreciated by the bird pick-up boys.
How far is the drive to the fields?
The longest drive to get to the dove fields is 20 minutes and sometimes we shoot outside the front door of the lodge. We shoot Perdiz within walking distance from the house, and the duck blinds are located 2 minutes driving to the boats, and five to 40 minutes to the blinds.
What guns are available for rental?
We have over 140 guns for rent: Beretta, Benelli, Franchi, Browning, Remington; 12, 20, 28 and 410 gauges.
What kind of shells are available?
We have 12, 20, and 28 gauge shotgun shells. We periodically have 410 shotgun shells. Please contact before your visit if you will require 410 shells so that we may check availability.
Am I Allowed to bring my own shotgun shells?
No. You are not permitted to bring shotgun shells into Argentina. Argentinean RENAR officials will confiscate your shells. Do not bring shotgun shells with you.
Do we have to use plugs for our shotguns?
No. Plugs are not required for dove hunting in Argentina.
Do you have any left-handed shotguns available?
No. We do not have any available at this time.
How many shotguns can I bring?
You can bring a maximum of three guns into Argentina for the purpose of hunting.
Is it Difficult to bring our firearms into Argentina?
Bringing firearms into Argentina is a bureaucratic process and is only recommended for those who have specially-fitted guns. Those bringing auto or semi-auto shotguns must apply for a Consular Gun Permit at the nearest Argentine Consulate. This is not needed for over/under shotguns.
Additional Activities:
During summertime, guests can enjoy dorado and piranha fishing and horseback riding.
Reservations, Deposits & Payments
The deposit is 50% of the trip price unless stated differently in the itinerary. Deposits may be made by check or credit card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card. The balance of the trip cost is due 90 days before departure, except where specified differently on individual itineraries. The balance will be charged automatically to the credit card used for the deposit, unless otherwise specified. Any changes made to the method of payment after the final balance has been collected are subject to processing fees.
A reservation form and release are required prior to departure.
All prices must be paid in U.S. dollars. Deposits are not transferable from one trip to another.
Prices quoted are based on foreign exchange values and tariffs currently in effect and prices are subject to change. Orvis Adventures reserves the right to adjust prices accordingly until the time of departure.
Planning information
When your reservation is confirmed, you will receive planning information to guide you through trip preparations. Details about arrival and departure, clothing and equipment, trip cancellation insurance, pre- and post- trip extensions, visas and documents and activities are included in the planning information.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Although cancellation fees may be higher for some trips, the following minimum cancellation fees will apply:

For trips that include an Orvis gift card or Orvis merchandise, the retail value of the gift card or merchandise is non-refundable upon delivery. Cancellation fees cannot be waived for any reason, including health, business or personal emergencies, or weather.
We strongly urge you to purchase trip cancellation insurance.
No refunds will be made for unused portions of a trip, including late arrival or early departure. Guide fees and hotel costs are not refundable if unused as outlined in the itinerary. Orvis reserves the right to modify an itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control. In the unlikely event that Orvis must cancel a tour, all payments received to date will be refunded, which constitutes a full settlement.
Orvis is not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation of any canceled trip, including airline tickets and visas fees.
Cancellation Insurance
Your planning information includes information for travel insurance covering cancel for any reason, cancellation for medical reasons, trip delay, medical expenses, lost baggage and medical evacuation. We urge you to obtain this coverage.
Share policies
Trip prices are based on double occupancy. Single rooms & cabins are limited. If you request a single room, a single supplement will apply as noted in the itinerary. We will confirm the single room as early as possible, but in some cases it may not be earlier than 30 days prior to the trip. If you request a roommate, we can usually pair you with another guest of the same gender, and no single supplement will apply. If you request a roommate, and one is not available, we will only charge you the single supplement if required by the lodge or facility used in the trip.
Children under 18 must share a room with a parent or other family member. In some cases this may be waived.
Passports and documents
International trips require a passport. Check your passport early and make sure it has six months validity at the time of travel. A visa is needed in some countries and we will send you complete details and instructions.
Arrival and Departure
Group transfers from a central location such as an airport are described in the itinerary, and are included in the land cost.. Transfers are not included in the land cost if you arrive early or leave after the scheduled departure day.

You will receive a detailed list of appropriate gear with your trip planning information.
Airline reservations
The land cost of your trip does not include airfare.
Limitation of liability
This section defines Orvis Travel’s responsibility with regard to all travel arrangements made by Orvis Travel, including individual travel and pre- and post- trip extensions. Please read it carefully.
Upon sending your deposit to Orvis Travel, you acknowledge that you have read and understand all the terms and conditions outlined here, and agree to be bound by them.
All trips that involve outdoor sporting activities such as shooting or fishing, or travel through remote places by vehicle, boat, small plane or on foot, put you at risk for accidents and serious injuries in the normal course of the activity. That is the nature of travel to such destinations and you acknowledge that you accept these hazards as a condition of participation.
Orvis Travel, its Owners, Employees, Associates and Agents give notice that they act only as the agent for the owners, contractors and suppliers providing means of transportation and/or other services and assume no responsibility howsoever caused for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from: acts of God, detention, annoyance, delays, expenses arising from quarantine, strikes, thefts, pilferage, force majeure, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, terrorism, government restrictions or regulations, and discrepancies or changes in transit or hotel services over which it has no control. Reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made where deemed advisable for the comfort and well-being of the passengers.
Baggage and personal effects, including items purchased, guns, fishing equipment or sporting goods are the sole responsibility of the owners at all times and no employee/agent of Orvis Travel, its subsidiaries, affiliated or associated companies is authorized to accept these for storage, safekeeping, or transportation.
