Accommodations:

Craigsanquhar has been owned by the McClendon family since 1999 when it was changed from a private home to a luxury hotel, restaurant, and wedding venue. In 2011, the family welcomed Jason Herkes to the family and to the business. With him came a wealth of knowledge in the Scottish shooting world thanks to his days as a young lad beating on some of Scotland’s most prestigious sporting estates. The Mansion House hosts 13 unique bedrooms, each bursting with the character, luxury, and charm of the country house. The house offers a combination of rooms with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. Adjacent to the Mansion House are four villas. Each is a three-bedroom luxury villa with a private bath in each bedroom and an additional powder bathroom, full kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry room, Wi-Fi, and indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Villas are booked based on availability and willingness to share with other guests.

Meals:

After a long day of shooting or fishing, there is nothing better than unwinding fireside with a cold pint of beer brewed in Scotland, a single malt whisky distilled just miles up the road, or a specialty cocktail before enjoying the culinary delights of Nathaniel's Restaurant. We encourage our shooters to bring back some of the daily bag for our chefs to prepare for dinner. Our seasonal menus celebrate the legacy of Scottish agriculture. It honors the people who, for generations, have been growing our food; the Scottish farm families who work year-round tending to their land, seeds, and crops that become the food we serve to our families. We know our food is handled with care, harvested at its peak, and made available for us to enjoy together.

Alcohol:

Alcoholic beverages will be at guests' expense.

Day 1 - Arrival Day:

After arriving at Edinburgh Airport, you will gather your belongings and meet Craigsanquhar representatives who will be waiting to drive you to Craigsanquhar Estate. Depending on when your flight gets in, you may take some time to rest, tour the estate grounds, or have coffee, lunch, or a drink at the restaurant at the estate.
