The Story

Enroll in a clays-specific Orvis wingshooting school at Nebraska's Pheasant Bonanza Hunt Club and Kennel. Our Orvis-endorsed hunting grounds feature skeet and trap fields as well as a 20-station sporting clays course. Using these resources, instructors will help students study every conceivable shot encountered in the field, from a covey rise of quail to crossing pheasants, hopping rabbits, and decoying ducks. With incredible amenities available at the Ben Schoonover Lodge, home-cooked heartland meals, and a staff comprised of dedicated, passionate shooters and instructors, this wingshooting school is one-of-a-kind in the Midwest. Come be our guest!

This school includes personalized instruction from one of our Orvis-Endorsed instructors and the staff of Pheasant Bonanza:

  • Basic shotgun safety and proper shotgun fit.
  • Proper stance and how to mount a shotgun so you will shoot exactly where you're looking.
  • How to shoot all types of clays and hunting scenarios: going away, crossing, low incomers, singles, and doubles.

We always recommend that you dress in layers appropriate for the season. Cotton, although a comfortable fabric is not a god choice for outdoor activities, especially in the summer. We encourage you to bring your own gun, but if a gun is needed, we can provide you with one at $30.00 per day charge. We have ammo for purchase as well.
