The Story

Orvis-endorsed fly-fishing guide Ray Ottulich, a native New Yorker, has been fishing since he was 12, getting his first line wet in the salt waters around Long Island and New Jersey. He caught his first trout on a grasshopper in the Adirondacks. While living in Montana for 24 years, Ray fine-tuned his fly-fishing savvy as a float-fishing guide on the Kootenai River, Montana's largest blue-ribbon trout water.

Returning to New York, Ray continued guiding in the Catskills and on the Delaware for trout and smallmouth. Ray also targets Hudson Tributary species, stripers, black bass, carp, and other species that are available seasonally.

"Have rods will travel." Wildfish Angler covers the Delaware, Catskills, Neversink Gorge, and the Hudson River with some fly fishing and surf casting 4WD beach adventures in the fall.

Orvis is pleased to offer our travel customers access to two valuable services: Global Rescue travel membership and IMG Signature Travel Insurance℠.
