The Story

Located in the fertile bottomlands, farmlands, and longleaf yellow pine forests of the Pearl River Valley, Running Creek Ranch is a family farm and working Black Angus cattle ranch. Historic family agricultural lands and deep woods have largely resisted commercial, residential, and industrial development, and these places now provide bountiful game and fish resources for hunters in this region of the Deep South. The hunting and shooting activities at Running Creek Ranch exemplify the great sporting lifestyle of southeast Mississippi. Whether pursuing bobwhite quail along an overgrown fencerow or pursuing the majestic pheasant in the upland pine plantations, the hunt will be a memorable event that you will well remember for years to come. We welcome you to hunt behind our string of seasoned pointing dogs or bring your favorite gundog. Whatever your interest, Running Creek Ranch will provide a clean, well-equipped, complimentary kennel space. Please visit our website photo and video hunting gallery to view the Ranch's gundogs and kennels. In September 2020, the Ranch opened its first sporting clays course. Since that time, the course has developed and grown to include a 15-station woodland course that wanders through the farmlands, lakes, and duck ponds; a 15-station super sporting course; a 12-station creek and bottomland course as well as two 5-stand facilities. We have hosted many private clay-shooting tournaments complete with registered targets, and our staff has provided professional clay and wingshooting instruction to hundreds of shooters from throughout the United States. The Running Creek Ranch Pro Shop is fully appointed with first-class hunting and shooting equipment and supplies for the discriminating hunter. The Sporting Clays courses at Running Creek Ranch are poised to host many state, national, and international tournaments in the near future. The Ranch regularly hosts individuals, private groups, families, corporations, military, trade groups, nonprofit associations, school groups and church groups. Our Ranch staff is composed of local folks who have grown up around hunting and shooting activities as a way of life in the South. The atmosphere here at the Ranch is best described as first-class southern hospitality. We look forward to serving you.

The Ranch is a rural, 1,200-acre property without any public roads or access. It is crossed by two clear, coldwater creeks and freshwater springs abound on the property. The nearby Pearl River flows from north Mississippi south into the Gulf of Mexico. The valley is rich with forests, swamps, agricultural lands, cattle, and livestock ranches. These land and water resources and features support an ecosystem conducive to producing plentiful cover, habitat, and food for all wildlife. The hunting and shooting grounds on the Ranch are diverse in composition, inclusive of lush farmland, rolling grassland, hardwood bottom, and upland pine plantations. This landscape provides excellent wildlife habitat as well as beautiful vistas.

The Ranch offers half-day and full-day all-inclusive and wingshooting packages. The wingshooting season begins each year on October 1 and ends on March 15. Half-day wingshooting hunts start at $495. A full breakdown of rates is published on our website at www.therunningcreekranch.com. We also offer upland hunting memberships.
