The Story

Trout fishing book by Ian Rutter. There is tremendous diversity in Tennessee's trout waters: tailwater rivers, mountain streams, and lakes, and much of it is on public land. This guidebook will give you a good starting point for exploring these waters, including up-to-date information, detailed maps, and easy-to-understand icons. Productive techniques and fly patterns are given for over 25 different trout waters, as well as what species you can expect, whether hiking is required, available camping and accommodations, whether it is safe for canoe, drift boat or motorized boats, and more. Not only is Tennessee beautiful and historical, it has great trout fishing; Tennessee Trout Waters is your guide to this fly-fishing paradise. Soft cover trout fishing book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth it! Great pics and prose I have several books on trout fishing in the southeast, and this one it at the top of the list. It's a great balance of local knowledge and general instruction. Some guide books tend to read like an instruction manual to assemble a ping pong table. Rutter's book is that rare combo of really nice, helpful pictures that also is really well written. The text isn't hokey by any means, but definitely feels like a discussion with your favorite guide instead of robotic dictation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well written, A+ pics from a legit guide Ian and Charity Rutter are a husband and wife team that do many things well.. and this book is a perfect example. Most hyper local guidebooks I own do well at only one element of writing, pictures, and good guide knowledge. They hit the trifecta here. I live 4 hours away from Tennessee so I need books like this. I bought it after a guiding trip with Ian. He is a great teacher, passionate local guide, and an all around good guy. You can't go wrong with this book, it is one of my most prized possessions in my little trout fishing library.
