Learn MoreThe Plantation:
Accommodations at Wynfield Plantation include five private cabins. Each group is appointed their own cabin, or cabins, depending on the size of your party. There are a total of 27 beds on the property. Our standard lodging rate is for double occupancy lodging (two people per room, including two beds), but we can gladly accommodate single occupancy for an additional fee if we have the space available. We have two larger cabins that sleep up to seven or eight guests, and three smaller cabins that each sleep up to four guests. Each cabin has a comfortable living room including a fireplace, gun storage area, and satellite TV. There is also a kitchen area in each cabin that includes a Keurig coffee maker and a refrigerator.
Meals are served at the main lodge, which is also where the pro shop and the office are located. Wynfield also has a separate building we refer to as the pavilion. The pavilion is where many of our guests retire to after dinner—it is an enclosed building/game room by the edge of the pond and conveniently located behind the cabins. Play a game of pool, poker, or just relax by the fire in the pavilion!
Food & Drink:
After an exciting day in the field, join us at the main lodge for drinks and hors d'oeuvres followed by an exquisite dinner prepared by our seasoned chef. Our guests are often treated to Wynfield Plantation's famous quail dinner finished with a heavenly dessert. Afterwards, retire to the pavilion for a game of pool, poker, or jenjoy a nightcap with your fellow hunters.
What is Provided:
The hunting rates include a guide, dogs, transportation to the field (modified Jeep scramblers), a 20-bird allowance per shooter for a full day, and lunch. Lodging rates include a private cabin for your group, appetizers, an open bar, dinner, and breakfast the morning after your stay. Items that are not included are referred to as "incidentals" and are normally charged at the end of your hunt and stay with us. Some incidentals may include bird cleaning, extra birds, ammunition, gun rentals, guide gratuities, service charges (for kitchen/house staff), and pro shop purchases.
Gear Recommendations:
We recommend guests bring boots for walking in the woods, chaps or brush pants, and a shooting shirt or vest. Guests are also required to wear an orange hat or vest for visibility purposes (orange "loaner" vests are available at no additional charge). Wynfield has 20 and 28 gauge over and under shotguns available for rent, but guests are more than welcome to bring their own. We suggest using 7.5 or 8 shot ammunition, which can be brought or purchased on-site.
What to Bring:
Guests are only asked to bring clothes, toiletries, and personal effects. Bed linens, towels, and all food and beverages are provided.
Season:
Wynfield begins hunting October 1st and the last day of our season is March 31st.
Species:
Wynfield Plantation is exclusively a bobwhite quail hunting lodge.
Region/Terrain:
Southwest Georgia is well known for its beautiful piney woods, and Wynfield provides a great example of the region! Our upland hunting grounds are predominantly mature pine forests with native grasses that provide a picturesque quail hunting experience.

During the early part of the season (October), highs are sometimes in the 70-80 degree F range and lows in the 55-70 degree range. December through early March, temperatures can be anywhere from highs in the 60-70 degree range to highs in the 40-50 range, with lows between 30-50 degrees. Near the end of March, it is generally cold in the mornings (40-50 degrees), with highs in the 60s-70s in the afternoons.
