Three Rivers Ranch is a fourth-generation family-run operation, neighboring the Targhee National Forest. The ranch is ideally located in eastern Idaho and is licensed to guide on some of the best rivers in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Guests can stay in one of the rustic cabins or at the Three Rivers Robinson Creek Lodge.
Private Cabins: Three Rivers Ranch has seven log cabins along the Robinson Creek, a fine trout stream in its own right. All cabins have porches for lounging, are furnished with western antiques, are carpeted, and have comfortable beds and electric heat.
Robinson Creek Lodge: The Robinson Creek Lodge, a separate guest facility, is located across Robinson Creek. It is equipped with four private guest rooms, two with balconies overlooking Robinson Creek with spectacular views. Complete with a full kitchen, large gathering room with western antiques, pool table, and large front porch, it is suitable for groups of 6–8. All meals are still served in the main lodge, however upon special request, we can arrange for your group to enjoy private dining.
There is no guided fishing scheduled on the day of arrival, but guests can fish independently on Robinson Creek and the Warm River, both of which flow through the Ranch property. Following dinner on the first night of your ranch stay, the acting host will brief you on the fishing conditions, daily schedule, and your fishing options for the week. Most parties split their time between wading and floating; personal preferences can be accommodated if, for example, you’d prefer to either wade or float exclusively. At the end of the fishing day or the following morning, your guide will discuss the next fishing session. Normally, breakfast is served between 8 and 9 AM, you’ll leave shortly thereafter for the river, and then return between 6 and 6:30 PM to freshen up before cocktails (approximately 7 PM), followed by dinner. Meal hours are scheduled; however, if anglers want to take advantage of early-morning or late-evening hatches, the ranch is flexible and special meal hours can be arranged.
The Ranch is licensed to guide fly-fishing guests on more than 16 legendary trout streams, including the Henry's Fork of the Snake, South Fork of the Snake, Teton River, Gallatin, Bechler, Warm River, Robinson Creek, Yellowstone, Firehole, Henry's Lake, Hebgen Lake, and many more tributaries of the Henry's Fork Drainage. The options are endless. Your guide will coordinate your weekly schedule, so that you can cover the most productive stretches where prolific hatches tease trout to the surface and the conditions are best.
The Henry's Fork of the Snake: The Ranch is located near one of the most famous trout streams in all of the United States. The Henry's Fork encompasses 1.7 million acres and over 3,000 miles of rivers, streams, and canals in eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. Here, you will find some of the finest fishing in the entire United States. The Henry's Fork is a tremendous dry-fly fishery loaded with many species of trout, large wild rainbows, and the ever-elusive brown. The river flows through ranch land, timber-covered canyons, and spring creek-like sections, with tributaries that are spectacular fisheries.
The South Fork of the Snake: Few rivers in America can provide a fly-fishing experience like that of The South Fork of the Snake River. The ranch fishes roughly 62 miles of the South Fork, from the Palisades Reservoir to the confluence of the Henry's Fork near Menan. Below Palisades Dam begins the stretch of the river, referred to as the "South Fork." The South Fork of the Snake boasts 5,177 fish per mile, which makes it one of the most productive Blue Ribbon Rivers in the country.
The Teton River: The Teton River is an 81.5-mile-long tributary of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. It drains through the Teton Valley along the western side of the Idaho-Wyoming border. Its location along the Teton Mountain Range (near Jackson Hole, WY) provides the river with more rainfall than many other rivers in the region. The Teton River provides some of the best fly fishing for both the beginner and the advanced angler. The fish consist of rainbow, cutthroat, hybrid cutbows, and brook trout; which grow quite large in the Teton River due to the prolific hatches occurring throughout the spring and into the fall.

Guests at Three Rivers Ranch can enjoy a relaxing massage, nature walk in Targhee National Forest, spot some of the nearly 232 species of birds and 62 species of flowering plants in the area, or simply sit and enjoy listening to the river on your cabin porch. The ranch is within easy driving distance to world-renowned attractions including Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Mesa Falls. Guests can find an abundance of things to do in Eastern Idaho’s Yellowstone-Teton Territory. From hiking and biking open trails to fly fishing pristine rivers to gliding down the ski slopes, nature awaits you. Or visit one of the many other tourist attractions such as an Indian reservation, one of Idaho's famous national parks, or historical museums. Take in a performance and dine at one of the delectable eateries.
What is the typical weather?
September – October: Autumn in Idaho is breathtaking. The trees are colorful, the water is low, and the fishing is excellent. Fall brings the time of year we like to call "Indian summer.” The nights are cold, and you can have some mornings with frost, but the days are warm, bringing temperatures above 70 degrees. In any Rocky Mountain fall weather, the need to dress in layers is particularly important and makes life a lot more comfortable. It's best to check the local forecast just prior to your trip for the most accurate weather conditions.

Reservations, Deposits & Payments
The deposit is 50% of the trip price unless stated differently in the trip proposal and materials (trip planner and confirmation email). In some cases, deposits are non-refundable, this depends on the destination and will be clearly noted in the trip proposal and materials as well. Deposits may be made by check or credit card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card. The balance of the trip cost is due 90 days before departure, except where specified differently on individual itineraries. The balance will be charged automatically to the credit card used for the deposit, unless otherwise specified. Any changes made to the method of payment after the final balance has been collected are subject to processing fees.
A reservation form and release are required prior to departure.
All prices must be paid in U.S. dollars. Deposits are not transferable from one trip to another.
Prices quoted are based on foreign exchange values and tariffs currently in effect and prices are subject to change. Orvis Adventures reserves the right to adjust prices accordingly until the time of departure.
Planning information
When your reservation is confirmed, you will receive planning information to guide you through trip preparations. Details about arrival and departure, clothing and equipment, trip cancellation insurance, pre- and post- trip extensions, visas and documents and activities are included in the planning information.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Although cancellation fees may be higher for some trips (stated in the trip proposal and materials), the following minimum cancellation fees will apply:

For trips that include an Orvis gift card or Orvis merchandise, the retail value of the gift card or merchandise is non-refundable upon delivery. Cancellation fees cannot be waived for any reason, including health, business or personal emergencies, or weather.
We strongly urge you to purchase trip cancellation insurance.
No refunds will be made for unused portions of a trip, including late arrival or early departure. Guide fees and hotel costs are not refundable if unused as outlined in the itinerary. Orvis reserves the right to modify an itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control. In the unlikely event that Orvis must cancel a tour, all payments received to date will be refunded, which constitutes a full settlement.
Orvis is not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation of any canceled trip, including airline tickets and visas fees.
Cancellation Insurance
Your planning information includes information for travel insurance covering cancel for any reason, cancellation for medical reasons, trip delay, medical expenses, lost baggage and medical evacuation. We urge you to obtain this coverage.
Share policies
Trip prices are based on double occupancy. Single rooms & cabins are limited. If you request a single room, a single supplement will apply as noted in the itinerary. We will confirm the single room as early as possible, but in some cases it may not be earlier than 30 days prior to the trip. If you request a roommate, we can usually pair you with another guest of the same gender, and no single supplement will apply. If you request a roommate, and one is not available, we will only charge you the single supplement if required by the lodge or facility used in the trip.
Children under 18 must share a room with a parent or other family member. In some cases this may be waived.
Passports and documents
International trips require a passport. Check your passport early and make sure it has six months validity at the time of travel. A visa is needed in some countries and we will send you complete details and instructions.
Arrival and Departure
Group transfers from a central location such as an airport are described in the itinerary, and are included in the land cost.. Transfers are not included in the land cost if you arrive early or leave after the scheduled departure day.

Airline reservations
The land cost of your trip does not include airfare.
Limitation of liability
This section defines Orvis Travel’s responsibility with regard to all travel arrangements made by Orvis Travel, including individual travel and pre- and post- trip extensions. Please read it carefully.
Upon sending your deposit to Orvis Travel, you acknowledge that you have read and understand all the terms and conditions outlined here, and agree to be bound by them.
All trips that involve outdoor sporting activities such as shooting or fishing, or travel through remote places by vehicle, boat, small plane or on foot, put you at risk for accidents and serious injuries in the normal course of the activity. That is the nature of travel to such destinations and you acknowledge that you accept these hazards as a condition of participation.
Orvis Travel, its Owners, Employees, Associates and Agents give notice that they act only as the agent for the owners, contractors and suppliers providing means of transportation and/or other services and assume no responsibility howsoever caused for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from: acts of God, detention, annoyance, delays, expenses arising from quarantine, strikes, thefts, pilferage, force majeure, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, terrorism, government restrictions or regulations, and discrepancies or changes in transit or hotel services over which it has no control. Reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made where deemed advisable for the comfort and well-being of the passengers.
Baggage and personal effects, including items purchased, guns, fishing equipment or sporting goods are the sole responsibility of the owners at all times and no employee/agent of Orvis Travel, its subsidiaries, affiliated or associated companies is authorized to accept these for storage, safekeeping, or transportation.
