Full-day hunt rates include a 5-stand/wobble trap warm-up, guide, dogs, a 20-bird harvest limit, and lunch. Overnight accommodations include a private cabin per group, cocktail hour, appetizers, dinner, and breakfast prior to departure. Many upland essentials are available for purchase in the General Store, including gun rentals, ammunition, and apparel. Hunting gear should include light chaps or briar pants, upland leather boots, coat, or jacket. Wet weather usually moves through quickly, so having waterproof outerwear on hand is a good idea. Our General Store can usually accommodate your last-minute needs or forgotten items. If it has been raining, comfortable muck-type boots are recommended for field hunting. Bring your comfortable casual wear and a change of shoes for use around the lodge and cabins.
- Over/Under Shotguns Available for Rent – $50/Hunter
- 20 & 28 Gauge are recommended but not mandatory (we prefer no auto loading or pump guns in the field)
- Light to heavy footwear, light raincoat, hunting, or heavy twill pants, vest, cap, glasses, gloves if desired.
- We require that hunters wear eye and ear protection when in the field and shooting.
Elevation for our hunting fields varies between 1,100 and 1,300 feet with views of 360-degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our hunting grounds offer varying terrain and vegetation, with native warm season grasses matched with purposefully planted food plots and strategically unmanaged escape cover. While most of the preserve features moderate hills during the hunt, we are happy to accommodate guests who prefer flat terrain or ride a golf cart during their hunt. Our climate varies throughout the hunting season, so we encourage guests to dress in layers and have wet-weather gear on hand.
