The Story

Brush Creek Luxury Ranch Collection offers the foremost in upland bird hunting. Spend the day on a quality hunt with highly trained pointers and flushing dogs. Hunt pheasant, Chukar and Hungarian partridge with experienced guides, surrounded by an incredible Wyoming landscape Each property within the Luxury Ranch Collection offers unique accommodations and dining. Enhance your stay at any of our three Ranches - The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch, Magee Homestead, and French Creek Sportsmen's Club - with a wingshooting adventure. Tailor your sporting experience to your preferences, whether upland bird hunts, waterfowl hunts, big game hunts, shooting sports, or all of the above. Allow our elite team of outfitters to guide you on an unforgettable hunt through 15,000 acres of sporting paradise. Southern Wyoming is home to some of the most beautiful bird habitat in the United States. We are positioned at the headwaters of the North Platte River, which is fed by snowmelt from our neighboring Snowy Mountain Range and Sierra Madre Range. This Blue Ribbon freestone fishery and its major tributaries are the main water sources in the valley, bringing clean clear water into our ranch lands and hunting grounds. From steep rocky canyons to flat rolling sagebrush hills, and everything in between, even the most traveled outdoorsmen seldom get to experience such variety of landscape and hunting scenarios within a single ranch. The driving mantra behind our sustainability efforts at the Ranch is "Educate, Enhance, and Enjoy." Our stewardship plan is designed to promote responsible ranch management. We educate guests about the land and thereby improve the ecological health of Brush Creek Ranch and its surrounding areas while allowing them to fully enjoy all we have to offer.

Season:

Summer Season: May-October

Upland Gamebird Season beings August 1st.

Winter Season: December-March

Species:

We offer traditional walking wingshooting hunts along with English Driven hunts and waterfowl hunts. We hunt a for a mixed bag of upland game birds including pheasant, chukar, quail, and Hungarian partridge.

Region/Terrain:

Saying we typify the American West isn't enough. We are the American West. Nestled on over 45 square miles of expansive, rolling wilderness in South Central Wyoming's North Platte River Valley, you can find us just Southeast of the historic town of Saratoga.

Our Ranch landscape combines native sagebrush and pastoral meadows with lush forests of aspen, cottonwood, and conifers. Did we mention the spectacular views of the Sierra Madre and Snowy Mountain ranges? You'll find that here, too.

Our adventures unfold from elevations beginning at 6,900 feet up to 12,000 feet at Medicine Bow's peak, one of the highest mountain elevations in the United States. We deliver our guests adventures for every season, leaving them with memories that last a lifetime.

Typical Weather:

Our summer guest season begins each May just as the ranch landscape is emerging from a long winter. Daytime temperatures are in the 70s F while nighttime temperatures can still dip below freezing. As the summer progresses and we move into June/July, our average daily temperatures are in the high 70s/low 80s, while nighttime temperatures remain in the 50s. These are often the months we're most likely to see an afternoon thunderstorm move through. Though, our precipitation levels here are relatively low year-round. August is our honest month by far with daily temperatures in the 80s and 90s. As we move into September and October, fall weather returns, daily temperatures are only reaching the 60s and 70s, while nightly temperatures are approaching freezing again. MId-November to March are the winter months for us with constant snowfall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Hunt and Experience! This was my first trip to Wyoming and Brush Creek Ranch. I was surprised they offered hunting but gladly signed up for a morning hunt. I was so impressed with their operation. the guides were top notch and the dogs were the best I have ever hunted behind. Brush Creek is a truly one-of-a-kind operation that caters to your every need. I will definitely be back every fall to hunt and fly fish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first hunt! This was my first time upland bird hunting (my husband had been before). While l have shot dove in Argentina, and enjoy sporting clays, this was entirely different. Our guides were excellent. Doug and Paul took turns leading the hunt, and Paul was usually next to me. He was super helpful until I got my rhythm and settled into the hunt. And the dogs!! They were amazing! I so enjoyed every moment of the whole experience. The field in which we were hunting was near French Creek. There they have a cluster of cabins, a 'library' (which is the perfect man-cave with bar, pool table, comfortable seating, etc), and facilities for meals. The guides told us that the Ranch runs a 'Blast and Cast' program which combines hunting and fly fishing. It looks like a great setup for a family trip or reunion. That experience is on our short list of things we want to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fly Fishing on the Platte River with Bruch Creek I’ve grown up trout fishing the Chattooga River in the Appalachian Mountains, but fly fishing on the Platte River with my son and daughter was different experience – it’s the definition of epic trout fishing. Between the spectacular views and a steady bite we did not want to leave. The funny thing is, my son and daughter had never cast a fly rod before our day on the Platte, but within an hour, our guide (Hayden) had them dropping flies into the perfect spot for vibrant rainbows and amazing browns. As the day went on, we moved up river to see if we could capture magic in multiple locations and the fish cooperated! My son and daughter both not only caught their first fish on fly rods, but they were catching 20” plus beauties like they’d been fly fishing for years. Thank to our team at Brush Creek for an awesome experience and the lasting memories!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pheasant Season Open at Brush Creek My son and I are avid hunters back in the southeast and have expectantly looked forward to our first pheasant hunting experience for months. Well, it was the experience a hunter dreams about! Our day of hunting pheasants and Hungarian partridge was first class and rugged at the same time. It started with the selection of perfect shotgun from their Beretta gun vault (we settled with two 20 gauge Silver Pigeons). We then headed to the fields which are situated in a picture-perfect vista, boarder by the picturesque French Creek. Once we got to the fields, we met our team of dogs and laid out our hunting strategy with our expert hunting guides (Doug & Paul). From there, the plan worked to perfection with the dogs, guides and hunters working in harmony to create a truly epic day for these two hunter’s first pheasant hunting experience. I’m hooked on Brush Creek and pheasant hunting! Thank you to the team at Brush Creek for providing us with memories of a lifetime. PS - the chef at Brush Creek took a couple of these birds and made the most amazing pheasant dish - wow!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pheasant hunt ever! The cliff shoot that we experienced at Brush Creek Ranch was fantastic. It provided countless challenging shots and all participants had a blast. The birds were released from a cliff overlooking the river and we were positioned between the river and the cliffs for our shooting. In addition, the afternoon was a walk up shoot. The dogs worked perfectly, flushed the birds, and we were able to have a nice afternoon shoot. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Lunch was fantastic and I will come back for many more hunts.
