If you’re a customer in the United States, we’re ready to get your rod repair started. But first, you’ll need to sign in or create an account by clicking the "start your repair button" below. For International repairs, there’s a slightly different process which you can access from the button below. If you have a bamboo or one-piece rod repair, please give us a call at 800-548-9548.
Our Vermont rod shop will take good care of your investment. Here are a few common questions about repairs, if you have more, feel free to chat with us.
Click the International Repairs button on the fly rod repair page. You’ll be directed to the International Rod Repair Request Form. Fill out and submit this form. You’ll receive an email with a repair number and return instructions.
International customers do NOT need to register their rods before submitting the form.
The unprecedented quality control and enhanced manufacturing tolerances we’ve realized in the Helios, Helios 3, Mission, Superfine Carbon, and current-model Clearwater and Recon rods have made it possible for us to simply send a new tip, tip mid, or butt mid-section to replace your broken one. Please follow the simple steps for getting a repair and we commit to getting you back on the water in 5 business days. Although our standard shipping alert on the checkout page will list 5-7 days, we will upgrade your shipment to 2-day. We're looking forward to seeing you out on the water and hearing your valued feedback. For broken butt sections, you’ll need to send your rod to us for repair.
**Subject to replacement part availability. If parts are not currently available, you will need to send in your rod for repair. Standard turnaround time for repairs is 4-6 weeks from receipt of your broken rod.
Your rod is eligible for this program if you have a serial number on the reel seat and your rod is a Helios, Helios 3, Mission, Recon, Superfine Glass, Clearwater, or Encounter.
**Mission, Superfine Glass, and Encounter are limited to tip replacement only.
Our wish is that a rod would never need to be repaired, but if that unfortunate need arises, we want to provide you with the best experience possible. By setting up an account and pre-registering your guaranteed fly rods, you ensure that we have all the information we need to get your repair underway.
If you broke your Helios, Helios 3, Mission, Superfine Carbon, current-model Recon or Clearwater at the butt section, you will need to send in all sections of your rod. If you broke your Mission, current model Superfine Glass, or current model Encounter below the tip section, you need to send in all sections of the rod.
For all other rod series, you will need to send in all sections of the rod.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for your graphite or fiberglass rod to be completed.
We completely understand how disappointing it is when your favorite rod breaks, but the good news is that our Orvis rod guarantee is here to get you back on the water as soon as possible! We charge a standard $60 operational processing fee for any rod repair.
The $60 fee covers the cost of materials, labor, and return shipping to ensure we can continue offering this service. We want to assure you that this fee is not about making a profit—it’s about keeping the rod guarantee program alive and well for all our anglers.
Our handling fee does NOT cover the cost of shipping the rod to our shop for repair. You can purchase one of our prepaid labels for $12.95 and the cost will be added to your handling fee. This option is only available when setting up your return online. You can also use your own shipping method (we recommend a method that is trackable and insured). We will cover the cost of shipping your repaired rod back to you.
International Customers: we do not offer any shipping labels for international repairs. You are required to cover the cost of shipping and customs to return your rod to us. International shipments that do not cover customs will be charged an additional $80 service fee to cover.
Yes, we’ll let you know once your rod is on its way back.
At Orvis, we stand behind the quality of our rods and honor our Guarantee with pride. If your rod is still within the Guarantee period but we are unable to repair it, we will replace it with a comparable rod of equal or greater value—at our discretion.

The Helios 2 1-piece rods featured a 5-year guarantee from the date of purchase and were required to be registered within 30 days of purchase.
