Learn MoreWe'll schedule the timing for your trip based on the developing action and the weather conditions. You do not need a Maryland fishing license when fishing with me. Bring your own seven- to nine-weight rod(s). I recommend two rods—one with a floating line and the other with a 250–350 grain depth charge line. Seven foot, 16-pound leaders will work. Bring your spray gear and most definitely wear non-marking deck shoes. There's room onboard for two anglers and six rods. If you like, I will provide the proper tackle. I provide bottled water and peanut bars. Bring your own snacks if you prefer, of course. We can pop in for lunch somewhere out there, but I like to keep going and fishing. But who doesn't like a hot crab-cake sandwich? We can do that.
Chesapeake Bay covers 64,000 square miles and includes more than 150 rivers and streams. It is the world's major striped bass nursery with upwards of 80 percent of the Atlantic striped bass population spawning here in the spring. Juvenile striped bass remain in their spawning rivers for about two years. Then, they spread out and follow the bait into more open waters. By age four, striped bass begin to join the migration out of the Bay and north to New England and even Canada. They return over the winter to stage near their spawning grounds. In the summer, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, redfish, and Cobia move into the Bay on the heels of schools of menhaden and bay anchovies. Osprey, eagles, bottle-nosed dolphins, and other predators do the same.
I charge $150 an hour.
Do I need to buy a fishing license?

No.
Should I bring a full set of foul-weather gear?
Not a bad idea.
Is it okay to bring a spinning rod?
Sure.
Do you provide sunscreen?
I'll have some onboard, but you might want to bring your favorite brand.
Is there a head onboard?
No. But we can run in if necessary.
